On January 13th, 2025, Kennedy Hunt P.C. filed a complaint against Integrity Trade Services, Illinois Tool Works, and ITW Seats & Motion alleging sex discrimination and retaliation against the defendants in violation of the Illinois Human Rights Act and the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
According to the lawsuit, our client was employed by defendant Integrity Trade Services, a staffing agency, from November 2022 to February 2023. The lawsuit states:
During her employment, Defendant ITS placed Plaintiff at several temporary jobs. 17. On or about January 9, 2023, Defendant ITS placed Plaintiff as a Quality Control Technician for Defendant ITW Seats & Motion (ITW).
According to the lawsuit, beginning in January 2023 a full-time employee with ITW began repeatedly harassing our client. The lawsuit alleges on more than one occasion, the employee’s continued harassment made our client very uncomfortable and impeded her ability to perform her job responsibilities. On January 30, 2023, our client reported the sexual harassment to her supervisor and human resources manager.
The lawsuit continues:
On or about February 2, 2023, [the human resources manager] informed Plaintiff that she had not made any finding of sexual harassment because it was “your word against his.” [The human resources manager] stated Plaintiff would be required to continue working with [ employee] and stated that the door to Plaintiff’s workspace was going to be removed.
The lawsuit also alleges that the next day, another human resources manager informed our client she was no longer a good fit for her job.
The lawsuit states that our client then told the human resources manager about the ongoing sexual harassment and complained of discrimination and retaliation. In response, the lawsuit states the human resources manager told our client she could not assist with her complaints of sexual harassment, discrimination, and retaliation.
Our client then asked to speak to someone higher up the chain of command at Defendant ITS about the complaint.
The lawsuit alleges that on or about February 6, 2024, the Human Resources Manager informed our client that Defendant ITS was also terminating our client’s employment and would not be able to assist her with another job placement because our client had asked the human resources manager to escalate her complaints
The lawsuit seeks lost wages and benefits, reinstatement, front wages, emotional distress damages, compensatory damages, punitive damages, pre- and post-judgment interest, attorney’s fees and costs, and any other relief this Court deems may be just and proper.
This case is ongoing.
