In a new letter in the St. Louis Post Dispatch, our client’s mother, Beverly Fields, calls for the state to pay direct-support professionals a living wage.
In the letter, Fields writes about the impact the direct-support professionals have on her daughter.
“The people who provide support to my daughter are direct-support professionals. They are dedicated, caring, compassionate people and invaluable to my daughter,” she says.
Fields also writes about how low-pay is worsening an already evident staffing shortage in care facilities. This is true not only in Missouri, but across the country.
Kennedy Hunt P.C. supports Fields and her calls for the Missouri Legislature to increase provider funding for care workers’ wages.
