On January 14, 2026, Kennedy Hunt P.C. filed a sex discrimination, harassment, and retaliation complaint against 770 Management, LLC, alleging the company discriminated against our client in violation of the Missouri Human Rights Act.
According to the lawsuit, our client worked as an Assistant Accountant, then as a Property Manager and Maintenance Director for Respondents at 770 Management, a property management company in Missouri. According to the lawsuit, our client reported to the owner of 770 Management throughout her employment.
The lawsuit states that on one occasion, our client asked the owner of 770 Management for a raise. In response, the owner told our client that women cannot make more money than men.
The lawsuit alleges that in 2023, a male manager at 770 Management asked our client to join him for drinks. According to the lawsuit, our client declined the drink. At the time the manager asked our client out for drinks, our client was 19 years old. The lawsuit states that 770 Management and the manager were aware that our client was 19 years old at the time.
The lawsuit states that, on information and belief, the male manager made inappropriate sexual advances and comments toward other female employees of 770 Management. On information and belief, the male manager also made inappropriate advances and comments to residents of 770 Management’s properties.
The lawsuit alleges that a 770 Management groundskeeper made inappropriate sexual comments toward our client. According to the lawsuit, our client reported those sexual comments to the owner of 770 Management, who indicated he would talk with the groundskeeper.
The lawsuit states that following our client’s complaint, the groundskeeper became aggressive toward her. According to the lawsuit, our client complained to 770 Management’s owner about the groundskeeper’s aggressive behavior in retaliation for her complaint. The lawsuit states that, in response, 770 Management’s owner told our client to “cut him a break.”
According to the lawsuit, the owner of 770 Management yelled at our client on multiple occasions during her employment. The lawsuit states that the owner often yelled at his female employees. The lawsuit states that 770 Management’s owner held female employees to unfair work standards compared to the male employees.
After our client reported sexual harassment by the male manager, and her discomfort working with him, to the owner of 770 Management. The lawsuit states that 770 Management took no appropriate remedial action in response to our client’s or anyone else’s complaints of sexual harassment. According to the lawsuit, in May 2024, 770 Management terminated the employment of another female employee who complained about the male manager’s inappropriate sexual behavior.
The lawsuit states that shortly thereafter, the owner of 770 Management instructed our client to turn in her work equipment and clock out. On or about May 30, 2024, 770 Management terminated our client’s employment.
According to the lawsuit, the owner of 770 Management did not give any reason for our client’s termination and later falsely claimed that our client quit. The lawsuit also alleges that 770 Management terminated one or more other female employees who reported the male manager’s inappropriate behavior.
The lawsuit continues:
On information and belief, [770 Management] replaced [our client] and another female employee who had reported sexual harassment with less qualified male employees who had not reported sexual harassment.
The lawsuit also states that:
[Our client] feared for her safety when she lived in [770 Management’s] apartment complex, because [the owner] and [the male manager] had keys to her living space. As a result, [our client] sometimes slept on the couch in another employee’s home and/or in other apartments to avoid being alone in her own apartment.
The lawsuit alleges that as a result of 770 Management’s actions, our client has suffered lost compensation and benefits of employment, emotional distress, and mental anguish.
